- Celestial Dance has a lot of side stories along with a main storyline, Artists Canvas has a solid and set storyline that is followed. All side stories in AC eventually lead back to the main story.
- Celestial Dance has a more light-hearted feel
- Though both end happily, Artist's Canvas has a more depressing story than Celestial Dance.
- Artist's Canvas has themes that are not suitable for everyone, while Celestial Dance tries to stay clean and within morals
- In CD, the Characters age physically. In AC they only change emotionally and none of there art is disturbed.
- In both you may get married, but in AC the requirement is to complete that part of the story, while CD is to become old enough.
- The idea of dating are very important in AC. Celestial Dance it is interaction, while going on dates influence everything.
- In CD you could not propose. (As far as the game goes as of now) In AC, it takes a lot of work to propose (in fact there is an entire side quest which is one of the hardest to do in the whole game) but it can go either they propose to you or you propose to them.

- AC uses mostly eventing while CD relies on scripts
- AC is less of a complex game in general with a more complex idea while CD is complex but is more simple in it's ideas
- people do die in Celestial Dance, but more of the deaths in the Artist's Canvas are upsetting, while not all in CD are actually very sad.
- Artist's Canvas may have an RPG sort of style to it for hunting and for the war
- Celestial Dance's Main character has basically no personality, while Artist's Canvas's playable characters has some personality that can be changed with decisions but not as much as CD. For humour, the main characters have decently strong personalities but changes slightly.
- Artist's Canvas has fantasy themes such as elves, fairies and magic but Celestial Dance only goes as far as Spirits.
